Desolations is an exploration into drones, harmonics, and microtunings, for solo electric guitar. Each piece was semi-improvised - recorded on a standard 6-string, 12-TET electric guitar.

The strings were tuned mostly in no particular fashion, but rather to try to bring out some interesting note and harmonic combinations. The tracks are named for the lowest string tuned.

This was my first proper foray back into the 'experimental' mindset in months, and it was a much-needed meditative process to make these. The pieces aren't particualrly supposed to go anywhere, they just sit in the moment - hanging in the air, breathing. I'd recommend a good set of headphones and some green tea.
